No Fête de la musique without good sound quality

Like previous years, it’s the company MASTERSOUNDS that will manage the live sound setups during La Fête de la Musique. We asked some questions to Darren, its manager.

Choose one word to describe the Fête de la musique:

Where do you come from? Since how long are you setting in Vanuatu?

My parents are from Asia and Australia, but I was born and raised in Vanuatu, and have lived here all my life.

Can you present us your company in few words?

You are also musician, what style of music do you play? Do you have a band?

Since how many years your company Mastersounds is managing all the sound system of Fête de la musique?

Me and the Mastersounds crew have been handling production of Fête de la Musique since 2011

How many guys are working on stages for the Fête de la musique?

Usually for the 2 music stages staff is around 10, this does not include the hard working staff of Alliance francaise, who also play a big part in the smooth running of Fête de la musique.

According to you, what is special in Fête de la musique compared to others concerts?

I think the thing that makes Fête de la Musique special and different from other music festivals, is that anyone and everyone is able to come fill up a form and if theirs space in the program, they are allowed to perform their music, there's no requirements that you need to have an album before your allowed to play or anything like that, if you can play an instrument, and sing, your able to perform at Fête de la Musique.

The Fête de la Musique will take place on Friday 17th of June from 6 to 12 pm. Stay tuned, follow the news about the program on our website and Facebook!

The Fête de la Musique is organized by the Alliance française in partnership with Tusker, and the support of the New-Caledonian Government, the Regional Cooperation New-Caledonia / France / Vanuatu, the Poemart, the French Embassy and the Port-Vila Municipality.
