The Francohony day was also celebrated on Santo thanks to the francophone schools in Luganville. These celebrations took place in the form of cultural activities organized on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th of March by teachers and students at all levels. Some members of the Alliance Française committee were invited to these programs. The Alliance française in Luganville offered drinks for the "goûters francophones" organized in six schools. At least 2500 students attended this program. The Alliance Française committee also grabbed the opportunity during these celebrations to remind people of the francophone values, the mission of the Alliance Française and suggested school and cultural activities. Finally, these celebrations have given the opportunity for the Alliance française to have a closer relationship with Luganville college. This was marked by a custom and kava ceremony held on Friday 19th of March at the Alliance française premises in Luganville.
